British MP will shoot the movie about Crimean War

Member of British Parliament, writer and former BBC journalist Patrick Mercer intends to shot the movie about events of Crimean War.

New movie titled The Gold of England is an international project. It will be shooted in several European countries. In 2013 folmmakers will work in Crimea.

One of the movie subplots tells about largest hoard of gold, drowned in a shipwreck off the coast of Balaklava. There is lyrical storyline too.

Movie funded by independent investors. One of them is Algernon Percy, representative of a very famous British aristocratic family, whose ancestors are buried in Westminster Abbey, the head of his own investment fund, the chairman of the Board of Trustees, which will manage funds for The Gold of England.

The Crimean War of 1853-1856. (East War) - the war between the Russian Empire and the coalition consisting of British, French, Ottoman empires and the Kingdom of Sardinia. The fighting took place in Crimea, Caucasus, Danubian principalities, the Baltic, Black, White and Barents Seas, as well as on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
